An Occupier at Zuccotty Park was asked for the purpose of OWS. He answered, “We are the purpose.” Many expect to hear demands or objectives but “We are the purpose” points to vision, the same vision held in “We the people.”

It is the policy of the Democratic Party of Coos County to respect and honor that declaration of purpose. Occupy is its own movement and not a resource for the Democratic Party. We, in gratitude, formally recognize Occupy as our wakeup call.
